TESTIMONIAL

“We had a two storey side and rear extension at our property in Abingdon. It was the first venture of this sort that we had been involved with and we knew it was going to cause (potentially!) some significant disruption. We thought carefully about who we were going to use for the build and chose Marc Powell (and Oxfordshire Building Services) after a tender process. Let’s be honest: we were totally ‘green’ with all of this, but we were impressed by the level of detail that Marc went into with our architect and by the level of detail in the tender. But we were also impressed by Marc’s willingness to discuss what we were looking to do and how to go about it. Let’s be honest: we had time constraints and we had money constraints: but Marc was always willing to look further into options to allow us to find a way for things to work. And, importantly, we always felt that we were getting honest advice: it was not always what we wanted to hear, but it was frank and sensible and exactly what we needed. From the start of the build (when we were still in occupancy) the team were courteous and considerate on site (with kids still at the property too) and just simply pleasant to be around. There were, of course, some problems to overcome during the build (that’s life!), the occasional delay and change of plan: but everything was handled constructively and pleasantly and in a positive spirit by Mark. At the end of the build we know that we pushed everyone very hard to get back into the property as swiftly as we could: really, we moved back in too soon after our rental property drew to an end. But this was not SOBS/Mark’s fault and they really did pull out all of the stops to get us to a point where we were back in while they completed the build. Since they moved off-site, Mark has still been entirely approachable with any questions/queries/snags (of which there have been very few) and we feel as though we can go to him. Highly recommended and have already done so to friends.”
